Louis Vuitton Speedy 30

For our one-year anniversary, John got me the Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 bag in the Damier Azur Canvas. He knew I had been eyeing it for such a long time so I was really happy when I came home to find this pleasant surprise waiting for me on my bed:

It even came with a cute little card, in which John wrote a very sweet message. He is truly a wonderful husband!

Other than my Chanel sunglasses, I have never really owned anything so luxurious, so I make sure to take good care of it. In fact, I’m so afraid to get even the slightest amount of dirt on it that I only use it for special occasions. I know I should use it more often because it’s just so beautiful, but I hate the thought of lugging it with me to the grocery store or even while shopping. I tend to use it when I’m going to a party or out to dinner with friends. It’s currently on proud display in my bedroom, waiting for another special occasion to be taken out.

It’s quite a roomy purse – I can fit all my essentials, including my iPad. And because it’s made of a laminated (?) canvas and leather trimmings, it cleans up easily (and it’s made in the USA!) It also comes with a lock and key, which adds a nice touch, although I’m not sure if I’ll ever use it.

If you look closely, you can see a reflection of me taking a picture of this lock :)

One of the reasons I don’t use this purse while I’m shopping is because it’s a top handle bag, meant to be worn on the arm, which can get in the way while you’re rummaging through clothes. So I’m currently coveting the Louis Vuitton Speedy 25 with shoulder strap bag in the Monogram Canvas:

It’s pretty much like the purse I already own, but it comes with a detachable (and adjustable!) shoulder strap, so it can be worn several different ways. Plus, the monogram print is such a classic, iconic design – a versatile piece that can be worn many different ways and with many different outfits.

When John and I were in Las Vegas, the Louis Vuitton store did not have it in stock (they only had the one in the window display). I have yet to visit my local store to check it out, but once I have $1,065 saved up (yikes!) I will make a trip to the Town Center.
